Fisheries official suspended for demanding bribe: Collector R Muthyala Raju
District Collector R Muthyala Raju issued directives suspending the Fisheries Department official G Srinivas for demanding bribe from the victim of a fish tank to demolish the same.
Eluru: District Collector R Muthyala Raju issued directives suspending the Fisheries Department official G Srinivas for demanding bribe from the victim of a fish tank to demolish the same. As per directives of the High Court, the district-level aqua regulatory committee headed by the Collector on November 9 issued orders to officials to demolish fish tanks constructed in violation of rules.
However, Ganapavaram DFO disobeyed the orders and demanded bribe for demolishing illegal fish tank from a victim. The victim submitted audio evidence of the same at the 'Spandana' programme on Monday.
Following this, the District Collector summoned the official to present before him by the same evening to give his clarification. As the DFO did not present, the Collector ordered the fisheries department deputy director to suspend him and make alternative arrangement.
