Giddalur: 2 die, 8 hurt as car rams roadside tree
Two people died and eight others were seriously injured in a road mishap as their speeding vehicle hit a tree on the roadside at Giddalur- Nandhyal highway on Monday. The police shifted the injured to Nandhyal Government Hospital.

According to Sirivella SI M Thimmareddy, a group of pilgrims from Pedagarlapadu village of Dachepalli mandal in Guntur district started to Mahanandi temple in a Toofan van on Sunday night. The driver behind the wheel in the multi utility vehicle failed to control the vehicle on Giddalur-Nandhyal highway, after crossing the Diguvametta village in Prakasam district. The car hit a roadside tree killing two passengers Madasu Brahmaiah, 45, and Erakali Anji, 42, on the spot. Another eight people of the family members and friends of the diseased in the car were severely injured and the police shifted them to Nandhyal Government General Hospital for treatment.
