Guntur: GMC commissioner Challa Anuradha directed the officials to conduct Covid-19 tests for persons above 60 years of age as a precautionary measure.

She conducted surprise inspection to 44th, 46th and 47th wards in Guntur on Wednesday.

Speaking on this occasion, she said that there is need to identify primary and second contacts of Covid-19 to check spread of disease. She examined pulse with oximeter and body temperature. She directed the officials to if they notice Covid-19 suspects, inform medical officers immediately. She inspected attendance registers at the wards and grievance registers.

She expressed ire over the officials for keeping the applications relating to ration cards and house sites. She warned that she will take action against the ward volunteers, if the volunteers did not attend duties without prior notice. She instructed the officials to speed up distribution of ration cards. She directed the officials to conduct door to door survey in Sangadigunta in the Guntur city in the backdrop of increase of Covid-19 cases and implement door to door collection of garbage.
