Gutka worth 36,000 seized in Nandigama

The Nandigama Police seized the banned Gutkha worth Rs 36,000 on Tuesday.
Vijayawada: The Nandigama Police seized the banned Gutkha worth Rs 36,000 on Tuesday. On a tip off, the Nandigama (Rural) circle inspector, Satish along with sub-inspector Srihari Babu conducted a search and seized the banned Gutka packets from Phatan Rasheed Khan while he was transporting them on a two-wheeler at Jujjuru road of Kanchikacherla.
The circle inspector said that as per the instructions of the district Superintendent of Police, Ravindra Babu, stringent action would be taken against Gutka peddlers and people who were secretly maintaining Gutka stocks by the Kanchikacharla police. A case has been registered against Rasheed Khan and investigation is on.
