Visakhapatnam: The local chapter of the National Human Resource Development (NHRD) network organised a lecture session on 'Trend settings in workplace safety administration – A journey of last decade' at Visakhapatnam Public Library.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of Factories G Bala Kishore said, "In earlier days, safety administration was simple but now it is not so, considering the complexity of manufacturing industry.

Earlier, the department was lagging in terms of knowledge and appropriate infrastructure. After rapid industrialisation, the scenario has totally changed." He noted that by interacting with the plant personnel, the departments should adopt process safety management practices as their goal is employee safety and promote safe work culture.

President of NHRD network, Visakhapatnam chapter, D S Varma lauded the efforts made by Bala Kishore in promoting industries much before the concept of 'ease of doing business' evolved. Many members from various industries of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam participated in the meeting concluded on Friday.
