Inter results: Memos to be served to principals, staff of government junior colleges for poor performance in Nellore

Nellore: Now, the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) is going to take action against the Government-run Institutions, the Principals and lecturers who have failed to attain the pass percentage of at least 30. Commissioner of the Board directed the district level officials to check the result of each college and identify the staff members to whom memos have to be issued. Academic assessment committee will also be formed this year for monitoring the academic activity in the state.

It maybe recalled that Commissioner of the Intermediate Board V Ramakrishna directed the officials at all districts to issue memos to the teaching staff in the Junior Colleges in case they fail to achieve a pass percentage of 30.

In fact, some government colleges in the district have got even 5 pc in the second year Intermediate examsr esults this year. The Commissioner viewed the situation seriously and asked the officials to prepare the list of principals and lecturers to serve the memos. They are also collecting the details of contract lecturers who teach various subjects. Board asked the officials to conduct a performance test to the contract lecturers.

First-year Intermediate students have achieved 62-71 pc and the second-year students were getting 68-80 pc during the last five years from 2015-16.

In the case of Government Colleges, they have been showing poor performance for many years. This year, overall, 62.26 pc of the first-year students passed, and 68.56 pc of second-year students passed the exam.

As many as 27 government junior colleges got 35 pc in the first year and 44 pc in the second year. Model schools 52 pc in the first year and 51 pc in the second year; aided colleges 30 pc and 39 pc respectively.

APSWR Junior Colleges 59 pc and 66 pc, APTWR Junior Colleges 63 pc and 47 pc; APBCWR Junior Colleges 78 pc and 68 pc; KGBVs 52 pc and 42 pc; APRJC 93 pc and 100 pc and Private Unaided Colleges with 71 pc and 72 pc.

Only one APRJC has got 90 pc in the first year and 100 pc in the second year. Dagadarthi Government Junior College bagged 93 pc results in the district. Vidavalur Government Junior College attained hardly 5.26 pass percentage, this year.
