Tirupati, October 17: Income Tax Department searches have been continuing on second day also in Kalki Ashram in Varadaiah Palem Mandal of Chittoor district as well as Chennai(TamilNadu) and Benglore (Karnataka). It is learned that I-T officials nabbed the Kalki Swamiji Vijaya Kumar Son Krishna Das Ji and his wife and questioning them over disproportionate of assets.
From Thursday morning I-T department special teams have been continuing their search operation uninterruptedly , so far I-T sleuths have seized Rs 33 crores cash including some foreign currency and they found many valuable documents pertaining to lands purchase at various states in India as well as in two African Countries. As whole Income Tax officials have shocked when they seen bundles of currency in the ashram at the time of conducting raid.
Second ay I-T teams conducted search operation in Ubbalamadu and other four campuses of KalkiBagavan Asram in Vardaiah Palem Mandal. According to sources second day they grilled Ashram key person over the real estate business as well as foreign money exchange.
Particularly Income Tax teams are investigating over foreign devotees donations and how the Ashram organisers diverting foreign currency into their accounts.
And one of the main allegation for Income Tax Raids is Kalki Ashram management are not paying income tax properly. Mainly they enquiring about financial irregularities which were taken place for the last few years.
Even on Thursday morning also many foreigners were seen in all the four campuses of Kalki Ashram and other cottages at the time of conducting I-T raids. It is learnt that Income Tax Department special teams questioned few foreign devotees too over donations and how much they paid to stay in ashram.
Interestingly for the last two days entire I-T search operation has been continuing under the direction of Chennai I-T circle officials and they brought TamilNadu armed police for escort in this connection.
Even infront of KalkiAshram Vardaiah Palem also TamilNadu Police deployed with arms along with I-T teams for escort. So far Chittoor District Police did not involve in the big search operation. Second day also officials have not disclosed the details about I-T raids on Kalki Ashram.
Whereas reportedly reliable sources said that Income Tax Raids may be continued on Friday third day also.
