Korukonda: TDP state vice-president and former MLA Jyothula Nehru has expressed concern on the crop holiday given under Musurumilli ayacut. Along with TDP leaders, he visited the damaged paddy fields in Krishnunipalem, Tantikonda, Kamarajupeta and Kothapalli of Gokavaram mandal on Sunday.

Later speaking to reporters he said that declaring the crop holiday under Musurumilli is not good on the part of the government and added that the farmers will lose a lot. He demanded the government to rollback its decision immediately.

The farmers incurred a loss of Rs 30,000 per acre due to incessant rains and demanded that the government pay a compensation of Rs 20,000 at least to each acre.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is showing step-motherly attitude towards the farming community and neglecting the agriculture sector, he alleged. He warned that the TDP along with farmers will launch an agitation if the government fails to rollback its decision on crop holiday.

TDP leaders D Vijay, PB Babu, U Ramu, Kannababu, Ashok, U Ratna Jyothi, AB Kumar, KS Naidu and P Arun were present.
