Commissioner of Kurnool Municipal Corporation D K Balaji inspects Sunkesula Barrage and Gajula Dinne project

Kurnool: The Commissioner of Kurnool Municipal Corporation D K Balaji directed the officials to ensure timely water supply to the residents without interruption. He along with municipal staff has visited irrigation projects like Sunkesula Barrage, Gajula Dinna Project and Pandikona in Pathikonda constituency on Saturday and inspected the water levels.

The commissioner enquired about the water resources that are catering the drinking needs of Kurnool residents. He also enquired about the water storage levels at the projects. Responding to the queries of the Commissioner the officials said that some farmers are illegally lifting water through motor pumps from Kurnool-Cuddapah (KC) Canal. He instructed removal of all the motors installed.

He instructed the officials to prepare a proposal for lifting water directly from the projects to the pumping station without any interruption. The prepared proposal would be sent to the government for getting permission, stated the Commissioner, DK Balaji.

Corporation Superintending Engineer (SE), Surendra Babu, Municipal Engineer, Ramana Murthy, Public Health Executive Engineer, Ram ohan Reddy, Deputy Engineer, Gurrappa, Assistant Engineer, Janardhan and others have accompanied the commissioner.
