Vijayawada: Muslim Hakkula Porata Samathi (MHPS) state president Khaja Vali on Friday said if the political parties fail to provide the desired number of seats, they would teach them a lesson in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the media, Vali recalled that out of 126 Assembly seats announced by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, only two seats were allotted to Muslim candidates, which is an injustice to the Muslim community.

Without a single Muslim Minister, the TDP managed to run the show. He said that in the remaining 49 Assembly seats which are to be announced, they should be allotted desired number of seats.

Stating that YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy would announce the candidates for the Assembly seats, he hoped that Reddy would do justice in allocating the seats.

He said that YSRCP had given four Assembly seats earlier. However, in 2019, Muslims have been demanding 10 Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat as per their population in the state.

MHPS convener A Rafi, state youth president Sk Nagul Meera, Krishna district president Sk Jani Pasha, Guntur president Firoz and others were present.
