Anantapur: District Collector and District Election Officer Veera Pandian has stated that the model code of conduct which came into effect from Sunday is applicable for all including politicians, government officials and even journalists.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Veera Pandian said that simultaneous polls for Lok Sabha and State Assembly will be held on April 11th. All political party candidates will have to file nominations on March 18, scrutiny of nominations on March 26 and withdrawal of nominations on March 28. Polling will be held on April 11th and counting on May 23rd.

Replying to a question, he said that there are 3,879 polling stations in the district. New voters can be enrolled until the date of nominations. New applications can be filed in all 3,801 polling stations in the district for voter enrolment.

As many as 75 model code of conduct officers, 22 video surveillance teams, 42 flying squad teams apart from 42 static surveillance teams have been appointed to observe conduct of contesting candidates.

All complaints against behaviour of candidates can be filed in 'C' Vigil App by uploading a 2-minute video of spots captured against the candidates. They can also complain to toll free number 1951.

District SP GVG Ashok Kumar said that every activity of candidates will be monitored and citizens carrying money for whatever purposes should be able to account for the sources of the money they are carrying. Joint Collector Dilly Rao was also present.
