Tirupati: CPI national secretary K Narayana criticised both the TDP and YSRCP vying with each other to give political colour to the brutal killing of former Minister YS Vivekanand Reddy, who he said a non-controversial person. He urged the voters of Andhra Pradesh to reject both the TDP and YSRCP and elect the third alternative Jana Sena Party (JSP) alliance to bring end to the corrupt and inefficient government.

Narayana made it clear that whether the Grand Alliance supports or not, his party will field former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar to contest Begusarai Lok Sabha seat in Bihar in the ensuing election.

Speaking to media here on Friday, Narayana came down heavily on his party alliance partner RJD and alleged that the RJD bowing to corporate refused to allot the seat for CPI to allow Kanhaiya Kumar contest for the LS seat. "But, our party will not go back from our decision to field former JNU student union leader Kanhaiya in Begusarai and see that he is elected," said criticising RJD's adamant attitude.

A decision to approving the candidature of Kanhaiya will be taken in the party (Bihar) state executive to be held on March 24, he added. The CPI leader also expressed his ire on Congress saying that the party was responsible for the failure of forming of a united front in many states to defeat the communal BJP.

The Left parties tried their best and almost succeeded in uniting the opposition parties against the BJP but the narrow-minded approach of the Congress spoiled it in many states including West Bengal, Bihar and UP having more number of LS seats, he said. The Left efforts saw the opposition parties coming together in Telangana, Orissa and Tamil Nadu Narayana said while stressing on the imminent need of defeating communal BJP in the ensuring election to save democracy and the secular fabric of the country.

The Communist leader said Narendra Modi-led BJP government in a systematic way weakened Constitutional bodies like RBI, CBI and UGC and if it allowed to come back then it will prove a doom to the country. He criticised Modi government for setting up Lok Pal when its term was about end in two months instead of establishing it immediately after the bill was approved in Parliament in 2014. CPI district secretary Rama Naidu, district committee member T Janardhan and others were present.
