Need to introduce drip irrigation in cotton cultivation
Agriculture scientist’s posts filling and appointment committee former chairman Dr C D Mayee stressed on need to introduce drip irrigation system in cotton cultivation to get more yield.
Guntur: Agriculture scientist's posts filling and appointment committee former chairman Dr C D Mayee stressed on need to introduce drip irrigation system in cotton cultivation to get more yield. He addressed a meeting held in the Acharya N G Ranga Agriculture University premises in Guntur city on Thursday.
Speaking on this occasion, he explained how to reduce cost of production in cotton cultivation and said steps to be taken to get more yield with less investment and mechanisation. He explained how they have reduced losses comparing to loss in 2017-18, from 30 per cent to 10 per cent in cotton cultivation. They released 7 research papers published on cotton. Over three hundred scientists doing research on cotton participated in the meeting. They explained results of research projects taken up in during 2017 and 2018 to the scientists.
Cotton Research Centre director (Nagapur), V N Waghmare Universities research director Dr N V Naidu, All India Cotton Research scheme coordinator Dr N H Prakash, Lam Farm associate director of research Dr Vallabhaneni Satyanarayana were among those participated.
