Nellore: Jana Sena leaders staged a protest in front of the Collectorate on Monday demanding immediate compensation of Rs 10,000 to cyclone-hit farmers. Addressing the gathering, K Vinod Kumar Reddy said the party has been focussing on issues of farmers and came down heavily on the ruling YSRCP for not supporting the farmers at the hour of crisis.

Party chief Pawan Kalyan has been visiting all cyclone-hit areas to highlight farmers woes, he stated. Jana Sena leaders demanded the compensation of Rs 35,000 to farmers before Christmas and immediate support of Rs 10,000 to them. If the state government neglects the farmers, the party would take up state-wide protests, they threatened.

Ch Manukranth Reddy said that crops in 17 lakh acres in five districts in the region were badly damaged. Party leaders Seenaiah, P Chandrasekhar Reddy, G Kishore, K Murali and others were present.
