Ongole: The Prakasam district Collector Dr Pola Bhaskara ordered the rapid response teams and district officials to work responsibly. He warned that severe action will be taken on them who didn't perform or fail to follow the orders of superiors.

In the meeting conducted with the district officials, the collector said that they should work more responsibly as the high alert is announced in the district.

He said that they should make sure the public does not worry about the groceries by keeping vigil at ground level and by implementing the Enforcement Provisions Act. He asked the officials to conduct a complete survey in the 90 PHCs limits in the district. He ordered them to operate the quarantine and isolation centers in the district with tight security and make sure the status of the infected people reach the district headquarters every day.

He said that they have appointed 10 rapid response teams for the identification of suspect cases in all PHCs. He advised the officials who cannot deliver in the time of the high alert and lockdown announced district to transfer away. He ordered to impose the GOs 202, 204 and 209 in emergency and see total surveillance available at the four isolation and four quarantine centers in the district.

The collector said that the government informed the arrival of 556 foreign returned people into the district, but the survey teams found the arrival of another 148 people. He said that in the foreign returned people, 91 are in Ongole, 10 are in Ongole rural,23 in Inkolu, 15 in Machavaram, 16 in Epurupalem, 11 in Parchuru, 13 in Kandukuru, 10 in Ponnalru, 13 in Tanguturu, 17 in Uppalapadu, 12 in Vetapalem, 11 in KS Palli and the remaining in other PHC area.

The joint collector S Shanmohan ordered them to take up sanitation programs to keep hygiene by keeping in view of the emergency. The trainee collector Suraj Dhanunjay, AJC K Narendra Prasad, DRO V Venkata Subbaiah, Additional SP B Sarath Babu, ZP CEO Kailash Giriswar, DMHO Dr. K Padmavathi, and other officials also participated in the program.
