Provide toilets, electricity at Anganwadis: Collector
Collector R Muthyala Raju has ordered the officials to provide toilets and electricity facilities in all Anganwadi Centres in the district.
Eluru: Collector R Muthyala Raju has ordered the officials to provide toilets and electricity facilities in all Anganwadi Centres in the district. He convened a meeting with officials of Woman and Child Welfare department and reviewed implementation of programmes under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) projects.
Stating that to achieve the target of 100 per cent toilets in Anganwadis, as many as 271 toilets need to be constructed in the district. He asked the ICDS project director to submit proposals for sanction of works.
Similarly, a total 571 Anganwadi centres lacked electricity facility. The electricity connection cheques should be sent through concerned panchayats to Transco for further action, he ordered.
Stating that weighing machines are must for all Anganwadis, he asked the officials to purchase and replace 2482 machines which are out of order.He instructed the officials to ensure all Anganwadis function as per timings and all registered children present.
