Vijayawada: Education department joint director D Devananda Reddy on Saturday appreciated the services of Progressive Recognised Teachers Union (PRTU) for strengthening the government schools in the district.

The joint director participated as chief guest at the release of 'PRTU Krishna News & Sevadal Samacharam' edition. Addressing the gathering, the joint director complimented the PRTU members for organising programmes like Prathiba Puraskar, Best Enrolment Awards and distributing study material to Class X students.

International Lion's Club multiple council chairman and Mulpuri Harita Seva Trust chairman Mulpuri Upendra appreciated the PRTU sevadal convener D Srinu for his initiation for the welfare of the government teachers and striving for improving the standards of education in government schools.

He said that the articles published in the PRTU Krishna News & Sevadal Samacharam edition would help the teaching community for improving the standards of education.

PRTU state president B Appa Rao, JACTO leader Ch Krishnamohan, Krishna district Headmasters body president SJ Stevenson and other leaders were present.
