Collector Arun Babu says bird sanctuary should be developed at Veerapuram

Puttaparthi (Sri Sathya Sai district) : District Collector Arun Babu has called upon tourism officials to chalk out an action plan for the development of tourism centres in the district.

Addressing a review meeting, Arun Babu asked officials to chalk out a tourism promotion plan in the new district and schemes to woo tourists from other parts of the State.

He asked them to develop greenery at Lepakshi Jatai Park and also complete guest houses construction on a fast track. Tenders must be called for new buildings.

New tourism committees should be formed involving companies, DIC and RDOs and ensure their attendance at meetings. District tourism officer Nageshwar Reddy has been asked to develop Timmamma Marrimanu as a botanical park. Besides, Veerapuram should be developed as a bird sanctuary.
