Resurvey on aqua zone ordered: Collector
West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has ordered for resurvey on aqua zone.
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has ordered for resurvey on aqua zone. He asked fisheries department to complete the resurvey as per government guidelines on setting up the zone.
The Collector addressed the officials at the meeting of fish ponds clearance committee here on Tuesday. He said the fisheries officials, at the end of conducting survey, should explain how the survey was done through a power point presentation.
He directed the survey team comprising of officials of fisheries, agriculture and irrigation departments to focus on all angles relating to proposals of aqua zone at field level. He informed that next meeting relating to aqua zone proposals would be held on August 13. He asked them to take decisions after comparing the productivities of agriculture and aqua culture in the areas concerned.
Stating that applications through Mee Seva for fish tank approvals had not been accepted for four months, the Collector emphasised on completing the resurvey within one month. After one month, the applications would be accepted at Mee Seva, he announced. The Collector ordered the officials concerned to take action against illegal fish tanks and prawn ponds set up in the district.
