Vijayawada: Krishna district superintendent of police Sarvashresth Tripathi said that tight security was arranged in the problematic and sensitive areas in the district in view of the counting of votes on May 23 for the Assembly and Lok Sabha segments.

SP inspected the arrangements at the Krishna University on Tuesday and discussed the arrangements with the officials. He made some suggestions to the police on arrangement facilities and security to the VIPs, officials, agents and counting staff at the university. He said that police Act 30 and section 144 will be imposed up to 2 km from the university campus and warned stringent action would be taken against anyone violates the law.

He said three tier security was provided to the EVMs at the University and added that parking facility was also arranged for 200 vehicles outside the university. He said special mobile parties, striking forces, special striking forces were drafted for the sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incident in the district on the day of counting on May 23.
