Srikakulam: Workers of MetCore Ferro Alloys industry are facing livelihood crisis for the last five years. The industry located at Ravivalasa village, near Tekkali Assembly segment headquarters.

The industry was closed when Tekkali TDP MLA K Atchannaidu was the Minister for Labour. The management shut it without assigning any reasonable cause the workers alleged.

The workers represented several times to the then Labour Minister, but in vain. After the YSRCP came to power, the workers submitted representations to the YSRCP Tekkali leaders K Kruparani, D Srinivas and P Tilak. But there was no relief for workers so far.

Finally, the workers complained to local Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders on Thursday and requested them to take up their cause.

JSP Tekkali segment leaders Kanithi Kiran Kumar, Attada Sridhar, Rayi Suneel, Kotturu Hari visited the industry and collected all details.

They spoke to JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan and explained. The JSP chief asked the leaders to submit a detailed report on the MetCore workers issue. As many as 500 families have been hit due to closure of the industry.
