Thotapalli (Vizianagaram): District project manager of natural farming K Prakash instructed the cluster activists and resource persons to expand natural farming to new areas and bring new farmers into pockets. "Our aim is to make 100 villages as bio villages which won't use even a single gram of chemical fertilizer or pesticide by this kharif. So, we all should work like soldiers and reach our goal," he said.

Addressing the field staff at Jattu Trust in Thotapalli village in Vizianagaram district on Wednesday, Prakash said the government was supplying thousands of kilograms of millet seeds to tribal farmers to increase the sown area and to increase the production of various millets.

The consumption of millets like ragi, jowar, foxtail millets, pearl millets was abnormally increased and the farmers also could get more income from these crops than paddy.

The government was supplying various instruments like grinder, sprayers to prepare herbal decoctions and even giving cow to use its urine and dung to prepare jeevamrutham, he pointed out.
