Nellore: Terming Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy "a psycho", TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh came down heavily on the YSRCP government for unleashing a reign of terror in the state harassing innocent people and foisting false cases against them.

He alleged that TDP booth level agent in Dagadarthi in district G Karthik had committed suicide only due to the harassment of a police official at the behest of a local YSRCP leader. Lokesh visited the house of Karthik on Friday morning in Dagadarthi along with party leaders and consoled the family members.

He assured them that the party would approach the court for justice and announced assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the bereaved family on behalf of the party. He questioned why police were involved in a civil dispute and collected signed blank documents from the victim.

"Incidents of suicides have increased in the state as soon as Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed office. Misdeeds of Jagan are more compared to his father Rajasekhara Reddy. The ruling party is focusing on foisting false cases against TDP leaders and activists forcing them to commit suicides," he said citing the episode of former Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao.

He said TDP booth agent Karthik was chased, harassed and was driven to suicide by the police and the ruling party. There is no law in Jagan's rule and the local MLAs are creating hurdles for peace and tranquillity in Nellore district, he added.

Warned the errant officials who do the government's bidding with utter disregard to law would have to face legal consequences, he said they were approaching the court in Karthik's instance by filing a private case.

Party MLC B Ravichandra, former legislators M S K Reddy, K Vijayarami Reddy, Pasam Sunil Kumar, Nuda former chief K Srinivasulu Reddy, former mayor Sk Abdul Aziz and others were present. Meanwhile, commenting on Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan's statement that he would wail with YSRCP, Lokesh said his departure would cause no loss to the party.

"He left the party only to protect his properties. He seems to have been speaking in a state of hangover," he said. He denied allegation that he was behind the propaganda against Vamsi on some web channels. He asked why he was raising Jr NTR's issue now after 10 years.
