Kakinada: Technical Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life, stated AP Governor and JNTU-K Chancellor Biswabushan Harichandan.

The Governor participated in the 7th convocation of JNTU-K at university campus here on Saturday and said that technical education is instrumental in making remarkable contribution to economic growth of the developing countries.

This is the way of producing human resources matching to the needs of the Industry; to produce fully skilled manpower and knowledgeable technocrats. In the present era of science and technology, this development is the need of the hour, he said.

In this connection Governor expressed happiness to be the Chancellor of this reputed university that produced many alumni who have made the University recognised at both nationally and internationally.

Advising the young graduates, Governor said that some of the young graduates passing through the University may be exploring the options of going for higher studies; some of them may look for jobs in their respective fields of education, while some others may want to become entrepreneurs.

In this connection,Governor reminded various activities taken up by Government of India, such as 'Make in India', 'Start-up India', 'Skill India', 'Digital India' etc. with an aim to make our country number one globally.

Speaking on the occasion chief guest B Prasada Rao former C and MD of BHEL and alumni of JNTU advised the student community to reach their goals with dedication and determination. The chief guest was conferred with honorary doctorate by Governor Biwa Bashan Harichandan.

JNTU-K Vice-Chancellor Prof. M Ramalinga Raju disclosed various aspects that took place in developing the university by providing quality education. Earlier on his arrival the Governor was extended warm welcome by people's representatives and officials including District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy and SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi.
