Three women killed as auto hits stationary lorry
Three women were killed in a road mishap in Prakasam district when an auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling hit a stationary lorry near Naguluppalapadu on Saturday.

According to the Ongole Rural CI P Subbarao, 14 women passengers boarded an auto-rickshaw with registration number AP27 TX 0016 at Chinaganjam to travel to Ongole in the morning.
The women sell guavas in Ongole by bringing the fruits from Chinaganjam and nearby villages. The auto hit a tipper lorry with registration number AP27 TU 3524 which was parked on the road at Gollavanikunta village between Uppugunduru and Naguluppalapadu from the rear.
A woman, N Akka Nagamma (45) and native of Chinaganjam died on the spot, while two others Odugu Govindamma (45) and V Chenchamma (58) breathed their last at the hospital. The locals and police shifted another five injured women to RIMS, Ongole for treatment.
The police booked a case against the auto driver for negligent driving and another case against the lorry driver for parking the vehicle on the road and causing the accident.
