Tirupati: Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy has reiterated government's commitment in giving top priority to public health by laying special focus on it. Addressing the brainstorming session on 'medical and health' as part of 'Mana Palana – Mee Suchana' held at SV University senate hall on Friday, he said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had included 200 more categories under Dr YSR Aarogya Sri through which many people were able to get costly treatment free of cost.

Speaking on the occasion, MLC Y Sreenivasulu Reddy has thanked the Chief Minister for implementing the recommendations of Sujatha Rao committee. The government had initiated the process of filling up of vacancies in medical and health department. All the officials in the department have been working round the clock to contain coronavirus, he said and lauded YSR Kanti Velugu scheme.

District Collector Dr N Bharat Gupta has said that the opinions generated from the brainstorming session will be consolidated into a report and will be sent to the government for further decisions. Several beneficiaries and ward secretaries have expressed their views on government schemes.

A dialysis patient Sivasankaraiah said that he has been undergoing dialysis free of cost at Ruia Hospital twice a week and getting Rs.1,000 assistance per month under Aarogya Sri. In addition to this, his family got another Rs.15,000 under Amma Vodi scheme for his daughter. Another dialysis patient Nagaraju from Irala, said that he has been travelling to Ruia Hospital twice a week for dialysis and requested to make arrangements for dialysis at Chittoor headquarters hospital.
