Tirupati: Provide enhanced amenities to pilgrims, says P Rajanna Dora
Appreciates the amenities being provided to pilgrims by the TTD.
Asks staff to maintain financial balance between the income and expenditure.
Tirupati: Chairman of Estimates Committee P Rajanna Dora suggested the TTD to provide enhanced facilities to the pilgrims, who are visiting Tirumala.
The Estimate Committee chairman also wanted the TTD to avoid unnecessary expenditure and opt for austerity measures.
A review meeting was held with TTD officials in SPRH at Tirupati on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the amenities being provided to pilgrims by TTD. However, he suggested the TTD staff to enhance these facilities keeping in view the ever-increasing rush to Tirumala. TTD should provide darshan, laddus, accommodation, tonsuring and other facilities keeping in view the sentiments of the pilgrims, he said.
Financial balance need to be maintained between the income and expenditure, he said adding that the government has already on the job of avoiding unnecessary expending and identifying priorities and the TTD should also follow suit. "The Committee in its review meeting with TTD senior officials mainly looked into the sources of revenue, expenditure and surpluses," he averred. He said TTD should make revenue out of the interest through its deposits in the bank. The management should also check its unnecessary expenditure on roads and complexes, he said.
Rajanna Dora said that Committee report will be submitted to the Speaker and would strive for its implementation.
Lauding the efforts TTD run BIRRD Ortho Specialty Hospital, Rajanna Dora said the hospital was standing as a boon to many ortho patients across the country and hoped that the hospital should give enhanced medicare to the patients.
During his visit to the BIRRD hospital on Wednesday, the Chairman directed the officials concerned to take care of the patients to the best possible extent.
Earlier the committee inspected operation theatre, intensive care, physiotherapy and other wards in the hospital. They also interacted with the patients who expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided by TTD to them.
TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional EO A V Dharma Reddy, JEO P Basanth Kumar, TUDA Chairman and Chief Whip C Bhaskar Reddy, Estimates Committee members Amarnath Reddy, Venugopal Reddy, K Anilkumar, Kirankuman, M Giridhar Rao, Bhavani, D Rama Rao, SP Ashok Babu and other officers of TTD were also present.
