Tirupati: CITU leaders on Monday met Panchayat Raj and Mines Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy seeking his intervention for reinstating the ousted employees of Rockman Industries located in Panguru near Srikalahasti in Chittoor district.
CITU district general secretary Kandarapu Murali and CPM leader V Nagaraj informed the minister that 250 employees who are locals from various places in Chittoor district were illegally removed from service about a month ago. Despite several representations and protests by the ousted employees and trade unions, the Rockman Industries did not take back the employees, the leaders said.
The minister assured the leaders that he will direct the District Collector to look into the issue of the ousted employees and would do justice to them. The leaders also met Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy on the issues of ousted employees and brought to his notice the illegal act of the management in removing the local employees.
