Railway electric signal maintainer D Solomon Raju averted a train mishap near Duggirala railway station by alerting the railway officials after noticing rail breakage near Duggirala railway station on Vijayawada-Chennai line.
Vijayawada: Railway electric signal maintainer D Solomon Raju averted a train mishap near Duggirala railway station by alerting the railway officials after noticing rail breakage near Duggirala railway station on Vijayawada-Chennai line. Impressed with the timely response and dedication of Solomon Raju, the Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager R Dhanunjayulu presented Rs.4000 cash reward to Solomon Raju.
According to Railway authorities, D Solomon Raju who was on duty noticed the breakage on Friday at 3.45 p.m. and immediately alerted the officials. The railway authorities have stopped the 13351 Dhanbad-Alleppey Bokaro express at Pedavadlapudi which was proceeding towards Chennai.
The engineering staff rushed to the spot at 6.20 p.m. and restored the rail breakage at 7.45 p.m. M VS Rama Raju, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, Ch P R Vittal, Senior Divisional Signal and Telecommunication Engineer and other officials lauded Solomon Raju.
