Kadapa: Proddatur police arrested two inter-district thieves allegedly responsible for robbing houses, chain snatching and recovered Rs3 lakhs worth gold and silver ornaments from the on Friday.

The accused were identified as D. Bala Chandra Ambavaram village of Kasinayina mandal, Sheik Soyab Rasul of Sundaraiah colony of Nellore district.

Addressing press conference on Friday Proddatur DSP L. Sudhakar said that the accused along with another thief Bala Venkataiah of Mydukuru mandal have robbed the house of K. Sahadeva Reddy resident of KVR colony in the absence of inmates. They also snatched the gold chain from A Veeramma of Rajeswari colony on 22 and August 2019.

The DSP said the culprits identified through CC footage fixed under Locked House Monitoring System (LHMS). He said that search parties were formed to nab another culprit indulger in the incident. Rural CI Viswanatha Reddy, 2 town CI Narasimha Reddy and others were present.
