CITU activists under the leadership of district leader Duvva Seshu Babji staged a dharna against the Union Budget introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman here on Wednesday.
Kakinada: CITU activists under the leadership of district leader Duvva Seshu Babji staged a dharna against the Union Budget introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Seshu Babji criticised that that despite a budget of Rs 30 lakh crore, there was namesake allocation for the middle class. He said that the wealth of the country has been exploited by the corporate powers. Privatisation of the railway sector was accelerating and the Central government is in the process of handing over LIC and the public sector companies to private operators.
The CITU district secretary, Chekkala Raj Kumar alleged the Union government had once again betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh by not allocating funds for the construction of the Polavaram project, special status or the state capital.
Pensioners Association leader N Satthiraju said that there was a huge cut in funds allocated under the welfare sector. This budget was a boon to the wealthy and the corporate houses. It put burden on the middle class. The CITU district secretary C Padma, city president Palivela Veerababu and others were present.
