Vijayawada: The advocate members of All India Lawyers Union (AILU) staged a protest demonstration at the Civil Courts complex here on Thursday demanding implementation of various assurances extended to the advocates by the government.

Addressing the gathering, AILU state president Sunkara Rajendra Prasad said the state government has announced stipend for junior lawyers under YSR Law Nestam and demanded that Rs 100 crore announced by the state government should be immediately transferred to the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh.

The advocates appealed to the legal administration to accept physically the suits, cheque bounce petitions, NI Act complaints.

Expressing concern over the inordinate delay in the construction of civil court complex here, the advocates demanded immediate completion of multi-storied complex. The advocates demanded loan facility through commercial banks. Referring to Covid-19 threat, the advocate said that there should be facilities in the courts as per the norms.
