Vijayawada: Minister for IT and Industries Mekapati Gautam Reddy instructed the officials to conduct survey with the help of village and ward secretariats in order to provide employment and self-employment to the youth.

He was addressing a review meeting with the officials of the departments of Industry, Skill Development and others at the State Skill Development Corporation office here on Tuesday.

The Minister said that the volunteers of the secretariats need to collect the details like the educational qualifications, achievements at the college and university level, and also the details of the school or college dropouts.

The volunteers should prepare proposals of the youth and these proposals would be forwarded to the Skill Development Corporation with recommendations as per the specifications of National Skills Qualifications Framework, he said.

The Minister said that the Skill Development Corporation would act as a bridge to study the various training programmes undertaken by SC,ST,BC and Minority Corporations in providing self- employment opportunities.

After submitting the survey reports, the details of infrastructure facilities should also be collected to undertake various training programmes, he said.

"The youth would be trained by the master trainers at the district level to enable them to undertake self-employment," he said.

Depending upon the reports submitted by the training partners, the entrepreneurs would be encouraged, the Minister said recalling that a number of industrialists came from interior villages.

Principal Secretary G Anantha Ramu said that the Joint Collector-3 at the district level should prepare plans for undertaking training programmes to improve various skills with the cooperation of the industries and various departments.

Malladi Vishnu, chairman of Brahmin Corporation, Vaddadi Madhusudan Rao, chairman of Relli and other corporations, K Kanaka Rao, chairman of Madiga Corporation, Arja Srikanth, Managing Director of Skill Development Corporation, principal secretary B Udayalakshmi, M Madhusudan Reddy, A Hemachandra Reddy, G S Navin Kumar, B Lavanyaveni, V N Mastanaiah, K V Nagaraju and other officials were present.
