Vijayawada: The three-day Sakhambari festivities ended at the Durga temple on Sunday with more than 5000 devotees attended the temple for the special pujas. The presiding deity and the temple was adorned with the vegetables and fruits to mark the annual celebrations. The temple administration is strictly following the Covid-19 guidelines and restricting the devotees to the temple.

On average, 5000 devotees visited the temple per day to mark the Sakambari festivities. The temple administration has made it mandatory wearing mask for all devotees and thermal screening conducted at the entrance of the temple. Besides, physical distance was maintained in the queue lines and hypochlorite sprinkled regularly in the queue lines as part of the sanitization.

Trust Board chairman Pyla Sominaidu, temple Executive Officer MV Suresh Babu, temple priest Vishnu Bhotla Siva Prasada Sarma and others participated in the special pujas performed on the last day.
