Vizianagaram: All set for distribution of house sites on July 8
The district administration has geared up to distribute house sites to weaker section. A total of 56,501 beneficiaries have been identified in the district.
Vizianagaram: The district administration has geared up to distribute house sites to weaker section. A total of 56,501 beneficiaries have been identified in the district.
The administration has acquired 1,400 acres, which include 900 acres of government land. A total 500 acres of private land was purchased. As much as Rs 157 crore was spent for levelling and formation of roads and other basic facilities.
It was made mandatory to leave 10 per cent of land in every layout for community open space like parks and playgrounds.
Every beneficiary in rural area will be allotted one-and-half cent land and in towns one cent. All the arrangements have been made to distribute house sites on July 8, according to officials.
A huge layout is being developed at Gunkalam village under Vizianagaram mandal in 337 acres to distribute house sites to 16,000 beneficiaries at a time. This is considered as one of the biggest layouts in the entire State.
District Collector M Hari Jawaharlal, "We are forming all the layouts and also saplings also will be planted on both sides of the roads. Even common area is left for Rythu Bharsa Kendrams, Anganwadi centres, schools, parks, bus stands, colleges."
