Vizianagaram: All the towns and villages in the district wore festive look as the candidates for MPTC and ZPTC constituencies are knocking every door appealing people to exercise their franchise in fair manner.

In this race, the ruling YSRCP is ahead and the TDP is lagging much behind. On the otherhand, the YSRCP candidates are convincing the TDP candidates to withdraw their nominations to avoid election and save the time and money. According to sources, this proposal is much attractive for some TDP candidates and cooperating with the ruling party. There was some hidden understanding also being made between the ruling and opposition candidates. On the other side, the candidates from the YSRCP are much confident and rushing ahead in campaigning and the TDP candidates are lagging.

B Vijayalakshmi, who is interested to contest from Merakamudidam as ZPTC on behalf of TDP, has simply joined the YSRCP and supported Majji Srinivasarao of YSRCP, who is likely to become ZPTC chief. Here she simply paved the way for him to win without contest.

R Rajeswari of Dattirajeru also unanimously won on behalf of YSRCP as ZPTC. The MLAs of YSRCP are speaking to candidates of Opposition party, who are contesting as MPTC, ZPTC or Sarpanch and convincing the Opposition candidates by requesting or threatening them. The YSRCP is exhibiting its clear upper hand in all the areas. In Vizianagaram city, the TDP candidates are facing several hardships and in some wards like 4, 5 in the town, are confident to win but in rest of wards, the corporator candidates are not much confident as YSRCP MLA K Veerabhadraswamy is in touch with every ward member and working for victory of party candidates.

On the otherhand, there is no strong leadership for TDP to drive the party here. P Ramakrishna, the former municipal chairman, is confined to his ward and former Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju is not involving in party activities due to his ill health.

K Radhamani, TDP corporator candidate of 49th ward in Vizianagaram, stated, "We are confident over victory. We are going to win at any cost even though the ruling party threatening and wooing the public."
