Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) Chairman Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao inked his first signature on 27 per cent of interim relief (IR) for the staff. Taking everyone by surprise, VMRDA first Chairman, Srinivasa Rao, who took charge of his position on Friday, inked his maiden signature on providing 27 per cent interim relief to the staff which will come into effect from this month.

Later, he inked second signature on a file pertaining to development of roads and working with police department to regulate traffic on highways. As VMRDA Chairman, Srinivasa Rao said he would not intervene in the regular working affairs of the corporation and would offer friendly cooperation and provide a congenial environment for the staff to work as a team.

He said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy views development and welfare as his two eyes and that he would walk in his footsteps to develop Visakhapatnam into the best industrial hub and financial capital of the State.

Later, speaking to the media, Srinivasa Rao said that the position of Chairman was a second life for him and that he would strive hard to bring in development on all fronts and ensure speeding up of pending projects.

VMRDA Commissioner in-charge G Srijana said that a noble personality like Dronamraju Srinivas would certainly add value to the corporation and expressed all cooperation on behalf of the staff. VMRDA secretary A Srinivas, VUDA former chairman Raju and officials were present.
