Police couple commit suicide in Bengaluru
A day after Criminal Investigation Department (CID) DSP Lakshmi V took her life at her friend’s house, a police couple -- constable Sheila and her husband Suresh, a head constable, who had been married for 10 years, hanged themselves at their house in Kothanur police station limits here on Friday morning.
Bengaluru: A day after Criminal Investigation Department (CID) DSP Lakshmi V took her life at her friend's house, a police couple -- constable Sheila and her husband Suresh, a head constable, who had been married for 10 years, hanged themselves at their house in Kothanur police station limits here on Friday morning.
Sheela was working at the Control Room, while Suresh was a writer at the ACP Sampigehalli division. According to reports, Suresh, who stayed at the ACP office whole night as he had a meeting with other staff members on Thursday, looked active and normal. The suicide came to light a few hours after he left the office.
"The exact reason for the couple's suicide is yet to be ascertained. The preliminary report suggests that there was no major reason for Suresh and Sheila to resort to such an extreme step. Sheila was from Chikmagalur while Suresh hailed from Kolar. They left behind a suicide note and we are trying to find out the reasons for their death," said the police statement. A case has been registered with the Kothanur police station.
