Noted for penning Masti, Grand Masti and Double Dhamaal, writer Tushar Hiranandani is making his directorial debut with Saand Ki Aankh, says he is grateful to Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar for showing guts to take up such challenging roles, both are very ballsy actresses.

The makers of Saand Ki Aankh hosted a wrap-up party last night in Mumbai. The entire cast and crew along with Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Anurag Kashyap, Tushar Hiranandani and many more graced the celebration.
The film is a biopic based on the life of sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar. The movie stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in the leading roles and the filmmaker is Tushar is just grateful to the leading ladies.
He said, "I went to every known actress in this industry for this role, but I would like say, only Taapsee and Bhumi had the balls to do this film. They are only two heroines, who had the guts to do this film. They were the only two girls who said yes to the film immediately, after hearing the script"
"See, no one said no to me after hearing the script, everyone loved the script but obviously playing an older women role on-screen is not easy. There is a lot of hard work that was needed, make-up required three hours every day, dialect, shooting in tough situations, so no one said yes but Taapsee and Bhumi said yes, and put in the work. I am feeling so lucky to get these two girls, I am sure I couldn't have found a better pair then them"
Going from hardcore commercial comic capers to biopic, when Tushar was asked about his choice for subject for debut film, he said, "Grand Masti is also a film of its own, it is commercial movie, and even for that matter Saand Ki Aankh is a commercial movie. I have tried to make it commercially. It is commercial film with a commercial title. It is a pan India film; everyone would love it, especially the kids. I have always written commercial cinema and would always make commercial films. It is also realistic because it is a biopic. But the way we have treated the film is commercial"
Saand Ki Aankh is produced by Anurag Kashyap, Reliance Entertainment and Nidhi Parmar. The film also stars Prakash Jha and Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles. It is slated for 25th October 2019 release.
