Suriya remuneration: Tamil star Suriya's latest release "Sooarai Pottru' has created a huge sensation in the Kollywood film circles even though the movie was released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
The audience who watched the movie on OTT were thrilled to see Suriya's performance in this movie. The movie which surpassed the language barrier won the appreciation of audience in Kannada, Telugu and Hindi.
Movie buffs in other languages too lauded Soorarai Pottru saying that they saw a good movie after a long time. Actor Suriya who tasted success with the movie despite the Coronavirus curbs, has reportedly hiked his remuneration which is being discussed in filmy circles.
News about a movie which will be directed by National Award winner Vetri Maran with Suriya is making the rounds in the Tamil industry. The director is doing his first movie with Suriya which is named as 'Vaadi Vaasal'.
As per the news doing the rounds, we hear that Suriya will be getting a remuneration of about Rs 35 crores for the movie. Compared to what Suriya charged for 'Soorarai Pottru', the remuneration he will be earning for the new movie will be higher.
For the Sudha Kongara directorial movie 'Soorarai Pottru', Suriya is said to have got a remuneration of 25 crores. The total budget of this movie was Rs 45 crores in which 25 crores was paid to Suriya and the other production cost worked out to 20 crores, it is being said. However, Amazon prime paid 45 crores for this movie and Sun Pictures had paid 15 crores for its satellite rights. So the makers got back what they shelled out on the movie.
Currently, Suriya is busy working in Gowtham Vasudev Menon's directorial web series. He will also be seen in Maniratnam''s movie 'Ponniyan Selvam' too.
Meanwhile, next Suriya will be seen in director Pandiya Rajan's movie. As per available details, the movie with Vetri Maran will go on floors by mid 2021. According to Amazon prime, the movie 'Soorarai Pottru' has earned viewership of about ten crores totally which includes all languages and has earned a profit which is three times the investment.
