Hyderabad: VNRVJIET celebrates 'Sintillashunz '20'
The Cultural Fest of VNRVJIET, Sintillashunz ’20, started at the city-based VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNRVJIET).
Hyderabad: The Cultural Fest of VNRVJIET, Sintillashunz '20, started at the city-based VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNRVJIET). Dr. Shobha Raju, Padma Shri awardee and renowned classical singer who is known for her rendition of Annamacharya Keerthanas, attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Dr. Shobha Raju said that Padma Shri was by chance and that a lot of better artistes did not get it while a lot of inferior ones got higher honours. She expressed that one's stature is known by one's conduct.
She said that those who lack moral values must not be entertained. "Let's fill our hearts with love", she called out to her audience, adding that the inner beauty is more important as it comes from the values that combine to form one's character.
Fusion of cultures must be for the good, Dr. Shobha Raju felt. Chief Guest Dr. Shobha Raju has taken the audience into a trance with her mellifluous rendition of Annamacharya Keerthanas.
The event started with classical dance performance of members of "Nrithya Tarang", the Classical Dance Club of the Institute. Sneha Latha Yarabathi, an alumna of the Institute, enthralled the audience with her Bharatanatyam performance.
Prize-winners of various intramural competitions held at the Institute were given away during the event. The event was attended by the Principal Dr. C.D. Naidu, Director for Advancement Dr. B. Chennakesava Rao, Dean-Student Progression Dr. Y. Padma Shayi, Chairman-Extracurricular Activities Dr. T. Srinivasa Rao, and faculty members and students.
A hip-hop dance competition, various music and literary competitions have been conducted as a part of the Cultural Fest.
