Bengaluru: Amidst the growing embarrassment for the State government, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday announced setting up of a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by IPS officer Soumendu Mukherjee, to probe the "sex-for-job" scandal alleged involving Ramesh Jarkiholi.

Bommai had earlier suspected a huge political conspiracy behind the "sex-for-job" scandal to destabilize the government.

He said that the SIT would unearth the truth and unmask those behind the "conspiracy".

As a precautionary step six ministers approached the court seeking injunction against the media coverage of "defamatory" content against ministers. Union minister Sadananda Gowda had expressed displeasure over the six ministers approaching court seeking restraint order.

Jarkiholi called the CD fake and said that he would wage legal battle to send the "conspirators" to jail.

A couple of days ago, Dinesh Kallahalli, a social activist had withdrawn the complaint he filed against the former minister alleging that he was harassing the woman after sexually exploiting her with a promise of job in KSPTC.
