The top court's intervention by asking the Election Commission to look into the woes against former BSF Jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav, Samajwadi Party's Lok Sabha candidate in Varanasi against PM Modi, is sagacious and a welcome move for obvious reasons.
In a country where solid criminals and outrageously scandalous candidates are freely contesting in polls with solid support of intellectuals and national political parties, the Election Commission's decision annulling his candidature is vividly dubious and biased.
Tej Bahadur Yadav, undoubtedly, fought against the ubiquitous corruption in the armed forces, particularly in supply of food to Jawans, and ultimately, he was forced to post an on-line video, exposing the outrageous quality of food given to our soldiers.
Undoubtedly, he deserves honour as a veteran against corruption, who sacrificed his noble profession as a soldier in eliminating corruption from the country.
Instead of shielding him being a whistle-blower, bafflingly, he has been made a scapegoat, apparently to protect the treacherous bigwigs of politics/bureaucracy.
