ADC CMD inspects labour camp

Amaravati: Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) CMD D Lakshmi Parthasarathi directed officials to ensure better facilities at labour camps of housing workers engaged in the construction of the capital city.

She visited the RVR labour camp at Tulluru in the capital region on Friday and personally inspected the facilities being provided to workers who have migrated from neighbouring areas along with their families.

During the visit, the ADC CMDinteracted with women workers and enquired about the facilities available to them. She expressed displeasure over the inadequate conditions in the dormitories and questioned representatives of the contractor agency over the lack of proper arrangements.

Lakshmi Parthasarathi particularly expressed dissatisfaction over insufficient ventilation and lighting in the sleeping rooms. She directed the officials and contractor representatives to ensure that workers are provided with hygienic and comfortable living conditions. She also inspected the drinking water tanks and toilets at the camp and reviewed their maintenance.

The CMD stressed that workers contributing to the construction of Amaravati should be provided with proper basic amenities and a safe living environment. ADC Chief Engineers B Narasimha Murthy and Ch Dhanunjaya accompanied herduring the inspection.
