According to the Commercial Taxes Department, State GST (SGST) collections stood at Rs 1,504 crore in October, registering 21 per cent growth over Rs 1,247 crore in October 2025 and generating an additional Rs 257 crore. This was the second-highest monthly SGST collection since the introduction of GST, after April 2026.
Net GST collections, including the State’s share of settled IGST, increased 19 per cent to Rs 3,582 crore from Rs 3,021 crore a year ago, an additional revenue of Rs 562 crore. This was the highest October collection since the introduction of GST and more than two-and-a-half times the Rs 1,392 crore collected in October 2017.
The State’s gross GST collections reached Rs 4,307 crore, registering 24 per cent growth against the national average of 16 per cent. Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest gross GST growth among southern States, outperforming Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
Petroleum VAT collections increased 23 per cent to Rs 1,577 crore, while Profession Tax also grew 23 per cent to Rs 45 crore. IGST settlement to the State rose 17 per cent to Rs 2,077 crore during October. Cumulatively, total Commercial Tax collections during April–October 2026 reached Rs 35,765 crore, an 18 per cent increase over Rs 30,351 crore during the corresponding period last year, yielding an additional Rs 5,414 crore. Net GST collections during the seven-month period rose 17.4 per cent to Rs 23,217 crore.
The department attributed the improved performance to better tax compliance, stronger enforcement and increased economic activity, supported by AI-based data analytics, automated scrutiny, IGST input tax credit reversal mechanisms, daily revenue monitoring, UPI-based enforcement and Aadhaar-linked Profession Tax expansion.
Growth in iron and steel, plastics, automobiles and machinery, along with construction and professional services, also contributed to higher collections.
