AP Govt orders probe into Kurnool SGT teacher appointment

Amaravati: The school education department on Saturday ordered an official inquiry into allegations surrounding the appointment of Ediga Prabhakar as an SGT (Telugu) under the sports quota in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment in Kurnool district.

The department said it had taken suo motu cognizance of media reports published over the past week alleging irregularities in Prabhakar’s selection and posting at MPPS (New), Vallur, in Kowthalam mandal.

Following the allegations, the district educational officer (DEO), Kurnool, initiated an official inquiry and called for all relevant recruitment records and verification files for detailed scrutiny. The school education department said that once the inquiry findings are received, the competent authority will take appropriate action strictly in accordance with the applicable recruitment and service rules.

The clarification assumes significance amid the political controversy over alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process, particularly regarding appointments made under the sports quota.

The department, however, said it remains committed to absolute transparency, merit-based selection and uncompromising integrity in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process.
