APPSC notifies 892 vacancies

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) on Tuesday issued recruitment notifications for 892 provisional vacancies across 20 categories, including 163 Group-I posts, opening another major recruitment window for unemployed youth in the state.

Applications for the Group-I Services and three other categories will be accepted from October 6 to 27, while applications for welfare department posts will open on October 9.

The recruitment for Assistant Statistical Officers and other posts will begin from October 13, followed by another set of notifications from October 16.

The 163 Group-I vacancies include 11 Deputy Collectors, 14 Assistant Commissioners in AP Tax Services, 36 Deputy Superintendents of Police (Civil), three DSPs (Communications), 14 District Educational Officers, three Revenue Divisional Officers, one district Tribal Welfare Officer, 15 Deputy Registrars in cooperative services, 12 Municipal Commissioners (Grade-II), two Assistant Treasury Officers, three District Employment Officers, 14 Assistant Audit Officers and 35 Divisional Development Officers.

Applications for 40 Assistant Environmental Engineer posts in the AP Pollution Control Board, 37 Horticulture Officers and eight Assistant Directors in the state Forensic Science Laboratory will also be accepted from October 6.

The next batch, opening on October 9, includes 29 hostel Welfare Officer grade-II posts in BC Welfare, 21 in Social Welfare and 23 in Tribal Welfare, besides six Assistant Tribal Welfare Officers and 11 Assistant Social Welfare Officers. The largest single recruitment is for 196 Assistant Statistical Officers in the AP economics and statistical subordinate service. Applications for these posts will be received from October 13.

The same application window covers 17 Assistant Directors in the AP economics and statistical service, one Assistant Director in Tribal Welfare, 12 Inspectors of factories, 18 analyst gtrade-II posts in the Pollution Control Board, 10 English reporters and one Telugu reporter in AP Legislature Services.

Applications beginning October 16 include 104 Executive Officer grade-III posts in the AP endowments subordinate service, 15 District Probation Officer grade-II/intake Probation Officer posts, 78 Industrial Promotion Officers, 29 Supervisor grade-I posts in Women Development and Child Welfare, 26 Forest Section Officers, 20 Draughtsman grade-II posts, 23 Forest Beat Officers and four Forest RangeOfficers.

The APPSC notification states that the 892 vacancies, qualifications and other particulars are tentative and provisional and that detailed notifications will be issued separately before applications are received. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the Commission’s official website and rely only on information published by APPSC.

Meanwhile, leaders representing unemployed youth under the APJAC welcomed the recruitment drive and thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh for raising the upper age limitfor APPSC jobs from 42 to 44 years for general-category candidates. They also welcomed the increase in the age limit for uniformed posts such as DSP and excise sub-inspector from 30 to 32 years.
