Amaravati: Registrar general and census commissioner of India Mritunjay Kumar Narayan has appreciated the performance of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), describing its technology-driven initiatives as exemplary and worthy of emulation. Narayan visited the RTGS Centre at the Secretariat on Friday, where RTGS CEO Prakhar Jain welcomed him and explained the organisation’s functioning, objectives and key technological initiatives.
During the visit, the RTGS team showcased flagship projects, including Data Lake, AWARE, RTGS CCTV 360, Unified Governance Dashboard and Mana Mitra, highlighting their role in strengthening real-time governance and improving public service delivery. Prakhar Jain explained that the Data Lake integrates information from various government departments on a single platform, enabling artificial intelligence-based analysis to develop applications that simplify governance and make services more accessible to citizens.
He also explained how AWARE continuously monitors weather conditions in real time, enabling early warnings and timely responses during disasters such as floods and cyclones to minimise loss of life and property. The team also demonstrated real-time monitoring of water availability across Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, CCLA joint secretary T S Chetan gave a PowerPoint presentation on the state government’s resurvey project. After reviewing the initiatives, Narayan appreciated RTGS’s technological capabilities and innovative approach, expressing particular interest in the Data Lake project and noting that such initiatives could serve as models for other administrations.
