Hyderabad: A 35-year-old woman allegedly threw her six-year-old daughter, who was suffering from a chronic illness, into Hussain Sagar on Friday, reportedly unable to bear the cost of her treatment. An auto driver who witnessed the incident jumped into the lake and rescued the girl.
According to the police, Shabana, a resident of Bowenpally, has been living with her two daughters following disputes with her husband. She works as a domestic help.
A few months ago, her daughter Ansari developed stomach pain and was admitted to a hospital. Medical examinations reportedly revealed that the child was suffering from a chronic illness.
Unable to meet the expenses of her daughter’s treatment, Shabana allegedly took the girl to Tank Bund and threw her into Hussain Sagar.
