Residents of several slums and colonies in Cantonment area are reeling under severe water shortage.
Secunderabad: Residents of several slums and colonies in Cantonment area are reeling under severe water shortage. While locals depend mostly on water supply by Jalmandali for their drinking water needs, many depend on borewells and handpumps for other purposes. Many borewells and handpumps in the Cantonment constituency have been dysfunctional and some of handpumps need repair.
The borewells dug by Cantonment in colonies such as Maredpally, Picket, Bosareddyguda and Kakaguda have dried or need repair. Locals, speaking to The Hans India appealed the board officials to identify the handpumps which need repairs and get them repaired. Considering the severe shortage of water, locals have demanded the officials to take the immediate measures to provide water.
